A look ahead

Thursday takes another step warmer, while sunny skies continue as highs reach the mid- to upper 80s. Humidity stays relatively comfortable, at least (dew points in the 50s). Thursday night should be mostly clear with lows in the low to mid-60s. Confidence: Medium-High

Friday brings hotter than normal weather as skies remain mostly sunny. Highs get into the low 90s with a few spots reaching the mid-90s. Humidity is a touch higher but not bad (dew points around 60). Friday night could see a few clouds with above-normal lows in the mid- to upper 60s. Confidence: Medium-High

The first weekend of June kicks off with stronger heat, with Saturday highs near 90 to the low 90s (maybe some mid-90s) combined with mostly sunny skies. Humidity jumps a bit toward the moderate side. Partly cloudy and muggier Saturday night with mid-60s to low 70s for lows.

Sunday isn't as toasty with mid- to upper 80s, partly sunny skies, and a shot for late-day showers and thunderstorms, especially northern and western parts of the region. Confidence: Medium

Some models bring back needed rain chances early next week with clouds as winds shift to more of an onshore flow. Other models keep us on the drier side. Highs aim for the somewhat cooler 70s to near 80.
