Happening now: A pleasant enough evening and decent overnight. Evening temperatures near 80 dip to lows in the 60s.

What’s next? 90s return Sunday along with a strong to severe storm threat. The workweek starts with a stretch of cooler conditions.

Forecast in detail

Tonight: Fair skies with just some high clouds. Humidity trends higher overnight, helping to buoy temperatures. Lows only dip to the mid-60s to near 70. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow (Sunday): Hot and soupy highs around 90 to 95. Feeling as hot as 95 to 100 with moderate to high humidity (dew points in mid-60s to near 70). An approaching front should spark at least scattered storms, especially after 3 p.m. A few storms may bring strong winds, hail, and even a tornado. Stay tuned for updates and see our separate briefing. Confidence: Medium

Tomorrow night: Storm chances continue into the evening, still with some severe potential, before diminishing overnight. Humidity then falls with lows ranging from near 60 to the mid-60s. Confidence: Medium

A look ahead

Monday and Tuesday are the kind of days you might wish for on a weekend. Mostly sunny to start the workweek. Plenty of sun Tuesday, but with a small shower chance late. Highs both days look to target 80, give or take a few. Confidence: Medium

Back into the 80s on Wednesday — they don't stay away long in June. The sometimes-standard June storm chance may also make an appearance. Confidence: Medium

Hotter and more humid for Thursday. It could be the next bigger chance of storms after Sunday, with another front approaching the region. Before that, highs near 90. Confidence: Medium
